Finn’s girlfriend Quinn announces that she is pregnant. Finn is worried his ability to play a role in the glee club will be threatened by the impending birth of their child. Finn tells his best friend “Puck” Puckerman that Quinn s pregnant and Puck claims to be the baby’s father! To add to the madness, glee club director Will’s wife Terri confides to her sister Kendra that her pregnancy was a so-called hysterical pregnancy and that she is not actually carrying Will’s baby. Kendra says they should somehow acquire a baby. When Terri hears that Quinn is pregnant she confronts Quinn on the issue of pre-natal care.

The Cheerios bid to destroy the glee club continues, and cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester colludes with the art director (who is the former glee club director) to hold auditions for a school musical, in the hope of poaching the talented Rachel from New Directions. Rachel is upset when director Will gives Tina a solo performance, and auditions for the musical. Predictably, she is handed the lead role. Rachel quits the glee club (again). The football team begin their dance training by performing Beyonce Knowles’ “Single Ladies” routine during a game. With Kurt making a fine contribution the team wins the game are able to win.
