If you don’t get to buy Glee Live! tickets you might soon be able to see the very next best thing – Glee in 3-D! Producers of the hit TV show have said they plan to make a film of the upcoming Glee Live! tour, and screen it in theaters on a two-week run. Most excitingly, the film will be made in 3-D, a masterstroke from the Glee marketing department. The film’s run would begin on August 12. All the Gleeks who don’t find Glee tickets must be relieved, that’s for sure. Glee creator Ryan Murphy said, “This tour was all about going out and performing for our amazing fans who have supported our show from the beginning, but due to the limited time we had to travel during our hiatus, there were only so many cities we could get to before we had to resume work on the television series.”
The film will be directed by Kevin Tancharoen, of Mortal Kombat fame, and is now one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Murphy added, “We knew that not every fan who wanted to attend a concert would get that opportunity. Now, thanks to our friends at Twentieth Century Fox Film, we’ll be able to bring the concert experience to movie theaters across the country in full three dimensional glory. We promise every passionate ‘Gleek’ a cinematic experience that will have them singing and dancing in the aisles.”
So now you don’t have to buy Glee tour tickets (yeah, right!) or at least you have something pretty cool to fall back on if you miss out. Be ready, one way or the other, to see “Don’t Stop Believin’” in glorious living color.
